DIPLO BOX OFFICE USE POLICY

Diplo Technologies Inc.

Effective August 10, 2026

This policy governs the use of the Diplo Box Office (Guichet), the tool used to sell tickets at the door of an event. It supplements Diplo's Terms of Use, Privacy Policy and Refund Policy.

By using the Box Office, the organizer accepts all of the rules below.

1. WHAT THE BOX OFFICE IS

The Box Office lets an organizer and authorized staff sell tickets on site, on event night, from a phone or tablet:

  • select an event, a category and a quantity;
  • generate a payment QR code that the customer scans with their own device;
  • contactless payment made by the customer (card, Apple Pay, Google Pay) on a secure payment page;
  • automatic ticket issuance as soon as the payment is confirmed;
  • automatic receipt by email and/or text message when those details are provided;
  • sales history with CSV and PDF exports for accounting.

The Box Office is not a payment terminal: Diplo never handles cash and provides no card reader. Payments are processed by our payment provider.

2. NO TICKET WITHOUT A CONFIRMED PAYMENT

2.1 Principle

For a paid category, no ticket is issued before the payment is confirmed by the payment provider. Until confirmation is received, the Box Office displays "Awaiting payment".

2.2 When no payment happens

If the customer abandons the flow, the QR code expires, or the payment fails, the sale is marked as not completed. No ticket is issued, no amount is credited to the organizer, and the Box Office never presents the operation as a completed payment.

2.3 Free tickets

For a 0 $ CA category, tickets are issued immediately and the operation is labelled free — no payment collected, in the sales screen as well as in history and accounting exports.

2.4 Authority of the payment confirmation

If a customer's screen and Diplo's records disagree, the payment provider's confirmation and Diplo's records prevail.

3. ORGANIZER RESPONSIBILITIES

The organizer agrees to:

  • use the Box Office only for their own events published on Diplo;
  • never exceed a category's declared capacity or the venue's legal capacity;
  • comply with applicable age, safety, permit and alcohol service obligations;
  • train authorized staff and never share credentials with third parties;
  • check the confirmation screen before letting a customer in;
  • keep their own tax and accounting obligations, Diplo providing exports only.

Using the Box Office to sell anything other than access to the relevant event, to bypass platform fees, or to test payment methods that are not their own is prohibited.

4. CANCELLATION AND RESTOCKING

The organizer may cancel a door-sold ticket as long as it has not been scanned at the entrance. Cancelling immediately invalidates the QR code and puts the spot back on sale.

Cancelling a door ticket is not an automatic refund. Any refund of a collected amount follows the Refund Policy and must be triggered from ticketing.

5. FEES

Door sales are subject to the same platform fees, service fees and payment provider fees as online sales, based on the organizer's plan. Per-sale details are visible in the Box Office history and in exports.

5.1 Payout Account (Stripe)

Amounts collected at the door never sit in a Diplo account: they are processed by Stripe and paid out to the organizer's Stripe Express payout account.

  • The organizer links this account from Dashboard → Payouts → “Link my account”. The bank account is entered on Stripe's secure pages, never in Diplo.
  • Without an active Stripe account, collecting paid door sales may be blocked and funds remain pending.
  • Payouts, statements and bank account changes are managed in the Stripe Express dashboard (“My payouts” button).

6. CUSTOMER DATA

Emails and phone numbers entered at the door are used only to deliver the ticket and the transaction receipt. They may not be used for promotional purposes without the customer's separate consent, in line with the Privacy Policy and applicable anti-spam rules.

7. AVAILABILITY AND OUTAGES

The Box Office depends on on-site network connectivity and on payment provider availability. Diplo cannot guarantee uninterrupted operation and recommends a fallback plan (online presales, guest lists) for high-attendance events.

8. SUSPENSION

Diplo may suspend Box Office access in case of fraudulent use, abnormal payment disputes, venue capacity violations, or breach of these rules.
